The sudden pain in your legs can cause you great discomfort. At times, it might be difficult even to walk or stand instantly when there is pain in your legs. This pain can range from a dull ache to a strong stabbing sensation. Just like the types of leg pain, there are different causes for the same. While some of them doesn’t cause serious consequences, but many need quick medical attention. Medical Conditions: Well, not only injuries, but also some medical conditions can generate sever pain in your legs.  It can be due to deep vein thrombosis (a blood clot caused by long periods of bed rest), arthritis, nerve damage, gout, varicose (spider) veins or due to the presence of infection in the bone or tissues of the leg.

  •          Slipped Disk– The pain travels from the back to the leg.
  •          Osgood Schlatter’s Disease– It occurs in young boys due to growth plate of the tibia.

Although, you can opt for the best treatment for the leg pain when you know its cause, yet there are some simple things you can try at home. For example, in case you believe that varicose veins are the major source of your pain, you can try pantyhose to provide support and it will also give you some relief.

Muscle cramps or muscle fatigue, which is very common after excessive physical activity, is known to be a big reason for leg pain. In case, your pain extends too high due to much physical activity, you can apply ice to your leg. It provides quick relief. You can repeat the same four times a day.

Another way to elevate the affected leg is with proper stretching and massages. They are a great option for muscle cramps.
